What changes in Forever
Persistent buff totems last five minutes, while short-duration totems retain their duration. Totemic Projection becomes available at level 22. Longer duration still requires managing where your group fights.

Elemental Combat
A spellcasting direction that asks you to manage mana and safe casting distance. Compare spell ranks and equipment before switching from a melee route.
Enhancement
The route below combines melee attacks, weapon enhancements and mana-saving talents. It is a questing proposal rather than a measured damage ranking.
Restoration
A group-healing direction with a separate equipment and mana plan. Choose support totems for the encounter and coordinate recovery breaks.
Starter leveling build: levels 10 to 30
Enhancement questing, totems and mana. An editorial questing proposal with 21 ordinary points. Its order satisfies ranks and prerequisites in our reference; it is not a measured optimal in-game build. It excludes early Legacy points and makes no level-60 performance claim.

Thundering Strikes +5Increase critical strike chance for spells and attacks.
- Level 15–17
Mental Dexterity +3Convert Intellect into attack power in this reference.
- Level 18–19
Ancestral Knowledge +2Add Intellect and complete ten points before training Ghost Wolf at level 20.
- Level 20–21
Improved Ghost Wolf +2Invest at levels 20–21 after training Ghost Wolf, reducing cast time and enabling indoor use.
- Level 22–24
Elemental Weapons +3Improve weapon effects; the benefit depends on which enhancement you actually use.
- Level 25
Stormstrike +1Add the active melee tool at the first available point in this route. Check its cooldown and mana cost.
- Level 26–30
Flurry +5Add attack speed after melee criticals, supported by the earlier critical-strike investment.

Shaman leveling rotation
The order we use in a normal questing fight. In brackets, the level each ability is learned.
- Imbue your weapon: Rockbiter Weapon (level 1) early, then Flametongue Weapon (level 10). With a slow weapon, Flametongue Weapon hits harder per swing. Windfury Weapon arrives at 30.
- Cast Lightning Shield (level 8): it strikes whoever attacks you.
- Drop Strength of Earth Totem (level 10). In WoW Forever it lasts 5 minutes, so it covers several fights in a row. From 20, Call of the Elements places up to 4 totems at once.
- Pull with Lightning Bolt (level 1) and, in longer fights, add Searing Totem (level 10).
- Open melee with Flame Shock (level 10) and use Earth Shock (level 4) to interrupt casts.
- From 25, use Stormstrike followed right away by Earth Shock: it gets 20% more damage. With Flurry, each crit speeds up your next 3 swings.
- If an enemy runs, slow it with Frost Shock (level 20). If you pull too many, Stoneclaw Totem (level 8) draws nearby enemies to it.
- Heal between fights with Healing Wave (level 1); from 20, Lesser Healing Wave is faster. Before moving on, pick up your totems with Totemic Recall (level 20) to get some mana back.

Abilities and early decisions
Keep your weapon plan current
Check weapon skill, equipment upgrades and your active weapon enhancement before a pull. Use Shock spells deliberately so you retain mana for support or emergencies.
Place totems for the next fight
Choose totems for the group’s needs and move them when the fight relocates. A long duration does not help players who have moved away from the effect.
Best race for your Shaman
Alliance
DwarfThe only Alliance option
In WoW Forever the Alliance Shaman is a Dwarf. Artisan’s Precision gives +1% hit with spells and attacks and Stoneform reduces physical damage by 10%.
Horde
OrcPvE and PvP
Blood Fury gives +10% attack and spell power and Hardiness shortens stuns.
TaurenSurvival and PvP
Endurance gives +5% health, and War Stomp stuns nearby enemies.
TrollLeveling
Berserking speeds up your attacks and Regeneration keeps part of your health regen in combat.

- Visit your trainer every even level: almost all your new spells and totems arrive on even levels.
- From 22, Totemic Projection moves your totems elsewhere: use it if the fight moves.
- Travel with Ghost Wolf (level 20). Improved Ghost Wolf cuts its cast time and lets you use it indoors.
- At 30 you learn Reincarnation: it lets you come back after dying.
Common mistakes
- Dropping every totem in short fights: they cost mana you need for healing.
- Using Earth Shock right before Stormstrike instead of right after.
- Forgetting your weapon imbue: without it you lose much of your damage.

Consider these for gathering and crafted gear, checking armor type and recipe requirements at your current level.
Herbalism and Alchemy
An alternative focused on consumables. Prepare resources for the route rather than repeatedly buying unfamiliar upgrades.
Frequently asked questions
Can the Shaman be Alliance in WoW Forever?
Yes, as a Dwarf. On the Horde side it can be Orc, Tauren, Troll or Skyborne.
Enhancement or Elemental for leveling?
We recommend Enhancement: it fights in melee, uses less mana and Stormstrike arrives at 25. Elemental deals big ranged damage but runs out of mana sooner.
How long do totems last in WoW Forever?
Buff totems such as Strength of Earth Totem last 5 minutes. Short ones such as Searing Totem keep their duration.
Why does Intellect help an Enhancement Shaman?
Because Mental Dexterity turns your Intellect into attack power, on top of more mana.
What to review after level 30
Before extending this route, review later talents, your equipment, your intended role and beta changes. The calculator supports exploring 51 ordinary points at level 60; a valid distribution alone does not establish the best setup for an activity.
