Skyborne in WoW Forever: classes, racials and Zephras Isle

The Skyborne are the new playable race in WoW Forever. They come from Zephras Isle, a floating island in Skywall, the elemental plane of air, whose protecting air spirits have vanished. They are the only race that chooses its faction at character creation.

Two factions, two versions

	Windshaper Skyborne	High Order Skyborne
Faction	Horde	Alliance
Classes	Shaman, Druid, Hunter, Rogue, Warrior	Mage, Druid, Hunter, Rogue, Warrior
Exclusive class	Shaman	Mage

Both versions can be Druid, Hunter, Rogue or Warrior. Picking the Horde unlocks Shaman; picking the Alliance unlocks Mage.

Racial abilities

Racial	Windshaper (Horde)	High Order (Alliance)
Walk on Air	Glide down for 10 seconds (90-second cooldown)	Glide down for 10 seconds (90-second cooldown)

Both hour-long buffs persist through death and are removed when you enter a raid

Haste on every attack type makes Wind Blessed useful for any class. Compare it with the other races on our race page.

Zephras Isle, the starting zone

• Levels 1 to 12. You leave the island for the main continents around level 12.
• Only Skyborne characters start here.
• The story: the island’s ancient structures are failing after its air spirits disappeared.

Customization and extras

• Two body types with thousands of combinations of faces, skin tones, hair, eyes and tattoos.
• New Druid forms made for the Skyborne.
• New emotes and their own /dance.

How to unlock the Skyborne

The race is not included in the regular subscription. You need one of the WoW Forever packs: the Skyborne Heroic Pack ($29.99) is the cheapest, and the Epic Pack and Warcraft Forever Collection include it too. All of them also give early name reservation from October 27. Compare them in Is WoW Forever free? Price and subscription.

Is it worth it?

If Haste and the glide matter to you, or you want Mage on the Alliance or Shaman on the Horde with a new look, the Heroic Pack is the way to get it. If not, every class is available with the classic races at no extra cost. Check the best class to start with before deciding.
