What changes in Forever
Blizzard allows consumables and racial abilities in forms, with exceptions including most engineering bombs. Barkskin can also be used while shapeshifted. Check each item before planning an emergency action.

Balance
A ranged spell route built around managing mana, positioning and casting windows. Compare its talents with your available spells before committing to a caster setup.
Feral Combat
Cat and Bear share this tree, but a questing route and a dedicated tank route have different priorities. The starter below emphasizes Cat movement and melee damage.
Restoration
Healing and support call for mana planning and a suitable gear set. Being able to change form does not replace preparing the role you agreed to play.
Starter leveling build: levels 10 to 30
Feral questing, forms and resource planning. An editorial questing proposal with 21 ordinary points. Its order satisfies ranks and prerequisites in our reference; it is not a measured optimal in-game build. It excludes early Legacy points and makes no level-60 performance claim.

Ferocity +5Spend less Energy or Rage on several core melee abilities.

Heart of the Wild +5Improve Intellect and the listed form bonuses while preparing for Cat Form at level 20.
- Level 20–21
Feral Swiftness +2Take Cat movement at levels 20–21, when Cat Form is available, rather than investing before you can use it.

Druid leveling rotation
The order we use in a normal questing fight. In brackets, the level each ability is learned.
- Before 10 you fight in caster form: cast Mark of the Wild (level 1) and Thorns (level 6), pull with Wrath (level 1) and apply Moonfire (level 4).
- From 10 to 19, use Bear Form (level 10): hit with Maul (level 10), lower enemy damage with Demoralizing Roar (level 10) and build Rage with Enrage (level 12). Ferocity makes your attacks cheaper.
- Against several enemies in Bear Form, use Swipe (level 16). Bash (level 14) stuns for 2 seconds.
- From 20, switch to Cat Form for damage. Sneak up with Prowl (level 20) and build combo points with Claw (level 20).
- If you are behind the enemy, use Shred (level 22). From 24, apply Rake early and pop Tiger's Fury.
- Finish with Rip (level 20) at 4 or 5 combo points on enemies that will live several seconds.
- From 26, in Bear Form, Feral Charge brings you to the enemy and interrupts its casts.
- Between fights, leave your form and heal with Rejuvenation (level 4) or Regrowth (level 12). If you pull too many, go Bear Form to survive.
Stat priority
- AgilityIn Cat Form it adds attack power, plus crits and armor.
- StrengthMore attack power in Bear and Cat Form.
- StaminaMore health, especially in Bear Form, which Heart of the Wild boosts further.
Abilities and early decisions
Plan before changing form
Keep a mana reserve for healing and shifting. In Cat Form, spend Energy with a purpose and watch Combo Points; in Bear Form, prepare threat and survival before taking a tank role.
A backup role needs equipment
Carry a healing set if you want to cover that role. Tell the group whether you are tanking, dealing damage or healing before a pull instead of switching without warning.

Compare availability and racialsTips to level faster
- In WoW Forever you can use consumables and racials without leaving your form, with exceptions such as most engineering bombs.
- Feral Swiftness makes you 30% faster in Cat Form: use it to move between quests until Travel Form at 30.
- Visit your trainer every even level: almost all your new abilities arrive on even levels.
- At 30, Leader of the Pack gives +3% crit to your whole group while you are in Bear or Cat Form.
Common mistakes
- Staying in Cat Form when you pull several enemies instead of switching to Bear Form.
- Spending your mana in caster form and being unable to shift back.
- Using Rip on enemies about to die: it is damage over time.
Professions for your route
Skinning and Leatherworking
Consider a gathering-and-crafting pairing for leather gear while leveling. Compare recipes with quest rewards before buying materials.
Herbalism and Alchemy
An alternative if you prefer gathering plants and preparing consumables. Confirm form-use exceptions rather than assuming every item can be used while transformed.

At what level does the Druid get Cat Form?
At level 20. Bear Form comes earlier, at 10, and Travel Form at 30.
Feral or Balance for leveling?
We recommend Feral: it fights without spending mana in Bear or Cat Form and can tank dungeons. Balance deals ranged damage but drinks more.
Can I tank dungeons with this build?
Yes, in low-level dungeons, with Bear Form, Growl (level 10), Maul, Swipe and Demoralizing Roar.
Which races can be Druids?
Night Elf and Skyborne for the Alliance; Tauren and Skyborne for the Horde.
