WoW Forever client data (build 1.60.1.70450) via wago.tools, compared with Classic 1.15.9.70003. Skill colors: orange, yellow, green and grey; "·" means the client does not store the learn rank. Costs are estimated from vendor sell prices. The route skips crafts with a cooldown (Mooncloth, transmutes) and those that need dungeon-only materials. "Trainer" is an estimate: recipes not taught by an item usually come from trainers.
First Aid is a secondary profession that uses cloth to make bandages and other recovery supplies. Bandages can help you or another player recover between fights, which makes the skill useful even when your class can heal. It does not occupy a primary-profession slot.
What changes in Forever
Wowhead’s beta guide reports that Healing Potions are now crafted through First Aid rather than Alchemy, and that new recipes address diseases and bleeds. It also lists a First Aid Kit at skill 20 for campsites; the current item tooltip describes a stamina benefit. Higher features include Toxin Study and Plague Doctor’s Laboratory, which the community guide associates with potions, antivenom, and poultices.
These changes make First Aid more than a bandage-only skill, but the exact recipe list and balance may move during beta. Check the current trainer or recipe source before discarding cloth or planning around a particular curative.
A practical starting point
Train it while leveling, keep some cloth for bandages, and use them when you can safely stop to recover. The skill can complement any class; it is especially handy when you want a non-mana recovery option. Its healing is not a substitute for a group’s combat plan, so compare the bandage or potion with your current health before using it.
